About Me I am the youngest of three siblings all of whom took very divergent paths that influenced my growth and interests. My brother is a writer and outdoor's-man. He holds a Bachelor degree in English and Spanish from Boston University. He has written for Epiphany, a literary journal and was selected as the winner of of the summer 2017 journal's short story contest by judge, and author, Peter Ho Davies. Nicholas also works in environmental stewardship as a trail builder and mountain rescuer for the Appalachian Mountain Club. Nicholas and I share a love of travel, geography, art, and history.
My sister Alexandra holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Boston University and a Master of Public Policy from The University of Southern California. Alex is the state government policy liaison for the Los Angles County Metropolitan Transit Authority and is seeking an elected position in local community organizing in the greater Los Angeles area. Alex has a passion for civic engagement, social justice, and political activism. We share a love of board games, mysteries, travel, art, and adventure. My fascination with the STEM fields began as a child when I participated in a LEGO FIRST Robotics after-school program. That evolved into FIRST Robotics when I entered high-school. This is where my experience and exposure to the engineering domain really took off. I taught myself how to use SolidWorks when I was 13 years old and began designing competition level robots for my high school team. I credit my siblings and family for providing such a well rounded foundation for growing up. I was able to express my deep curiosity for all things and explore various subject matters that helped to inform my engineering design philosophy today. My interests in nature, biology, and sustainable technologies helped to fuel my study of biomimetic design. I believe learning from nature can provide an immensely important template for the design of future technologies. |
Activities
Running, jumping, hiking, biking, climbing trees. I like being outside. A proud denizen of New Hampshire, I enjoy the opportunities to get out and see great landscapes.
I had the great opportunity to travel to England, Scotland, France and Iceland the summer of 2015. By far my favorite place to visit was Iceland. A land like no other, I got to go on several adventures and had an amazing time.
